Wound vacuum, for stage 4 wounds, with high drainage. Me: Diagnosed with Fournier’s Gangrene, emergency, life-saving surgery, septic, on many strong antibiotics to fight infection, osteomyelitis. 12 major surgeries, for skin grafts, and many debridement surgeries. Finally was able to discontinue the wound vacuum in April 2024, over two years of needed a wound vacuum! Still bedridden at home, with hopes of getting out of bed and getting physical therapy for a few weeks at a clinic, certified, rehabilitation facility. All this happened, because doctors in the ED never took blood to find I was septic, until I was hours/minutes from death, from septicemia, close to organ’s failing, from what my infectious disease doctor said to me. I’m a T-12 complete paraplegic, since 2010, which makes the stage 4 wound on my buttocks area/perineal area, (almost had to have my entire genitalia removed: penis/testicles/scrotum. Had I been properly diagnosed at the hospital ED, with blood drawls, 2 weeks earlier, they could have caught it and simply hospitalized me for about 2 weeks on strong and proper antibiotics via intravenous line. So, now , coming up on 3 years this October 16, 2024, I pray I’ll be able to finally, and slowly get back to my manual wheelchair, and slowly get back to the quality life I had before or at least close. 🔴Attention 🔴Don’t ever leave the hospital or let them force you out without a fight, if you feel they missed something! Demand a second opinion, and bloodwork!!! God bless you all who are suffering with horrible, deep, and non healing wounds.

Welpen, Gause is to be applied according to size, timing, duration, and situations: all are different.

  • @welpen2006

I have healed many deep wounds with medical white cotton, it accumulates the blood and the lymphe wound healing solution and the results are best. Other Doctors promoting Gauze should apply gauze on themself and his family members next time he/ they get heavily injured. And bear the pain from Gauze. One of the many Misconceptions of medicines. Nothing, NOTHING is better than COTTON! ❤❤

As always, THE BEST! Still can remember the days as an ER nurse when the ER doc would request a certain type of suture, and I'd come back and say "Well, we have THIS... but we don't have what you want here in the Adult ER; I can go over to the Pediatric ER if you'd like". His/her response would be: "Nah, that's close enough". And then there were days where the laceration/injury would be too much for the ER doc to handle, and he'd call plastics (Not your jam, I get it- but just for this example. LOL) The plastic surgeon would request whatever he requested, and if we didn't have EXACTLY what he wanted, oh boy!.... He was up in arms! Moral of the story- When it comes to sutures, no matter where, surgeons want what they want.... need what they need... and, in the long term, this benefits the patient both aesthetically and mentally.

There is nothing better for wound healing than medical cotton along with Neosporin cream applied on it. Use Kinesiology tape to get it sticked properly. That's a rubber tape. If it doesn't hold enough You can use a 6 inch gauze tape to hold it horizontally. To put Gauze directly on a wound is a crime against humanity and will cause terrible pain. Cotton is the best dressing material! ❤❤

Always enjoy your content, doctor, because it is simultaneously informative and succinct. Have you ever used amniotic tissue for wound covering? I work with many different doctors, several who describe these membranes as nothing short of magic in their ability to promote healing of chronic or hard-to-heal wounds.

Duodenal atresia ??? with sigmoid volvulus ?? can do can we do endoscopy to confirm? Because I do not sees a mega colon filled with contrast, if Duodenal atresia :1-NG tube decompression of intestinal content then 2-Duodeno-duodeno-stomy considering if neonate is fit for surgery, otherwise Neonatal parenteral nutrition or even jejunostomy feeding until neonate gains enough weight and fit for surgery.
